GERMINATION
This is the spurt of growth of the embryo from a plant's seed, usually
signaled by the emergence of shoot.

HERB
When we think of a herb, we usually think of the aromatic herbs such as
basil and oregano, used to flavour foods such as pasta, pizza and casseroles.
However, the true definition of a herb, is any vascular plant (a plant
that contains channels through which to transport fluids) which does not
have a woody stem. Those used to flavour food, are known as culinary herbs.

HYBRID
(sounds like "high-brid"). An individual (plant or animal) produced
when parents from different species breed. Some hybrids, such as those
produced by Red and White Campion, are fertile and can go on to breed
themselves.

INSECT
An insect is a type of invertebrate animal ("invertebrate" means
without a backbone) , which has six legs, and a hard outer layer, known
as an exoskeleton. The body is divided into 3 parts - the head, thorax
and abdomen. Insects are the most numerous animals in the world. Insects
have been around for an extremely long time. They are a very successful
group. There are more kinds (species) of insects, than all kinds of mammals,
fish, birds, and reptiles put together.
