Hedgehog

A prickly coat protects the hedgehog. It can roll into a ball to protect itself. It is mainly nocturnal. Hedgehogs hibernate in a nest of leaves. They often rummage in dung heaps to find insects for food. They are quite noisy, making a loud snuffling sound particularly at mating time.
