One winter's day Sebastian went for a walk. "Oh!" he said.
"Everything looks different."
Sebastian waddled over an island. He smelt something sweet and fresh.
"Hmm!" he said. "What's that?" It was a snowdrop. Snowdrops are one of the first plants to flower after
the winter.
Sebastian waddled round the pond. He saw something black and wriggly.
"Eek!" he said. "What's that?" It was a tadpole. It had just hatched out from the frogspawn.
Sebastian waddled in to the woods. He felt something soft and fluffy.
"Ahh!" he said. "What's that?" It was some catkins hanging from a tree. They were blowing in the wind.
Sebastian waddled by the river. He heard something cheeping. "Ooh!"
he said. "What's that?" It was some ducklings. They were having their first swim on the river.
Sebastian waddled back to the island. "I don't think it is winter any
more," he said. "I think it must be... Spring!"
