This part of the Blean makes one
of the largest blocks of woodland under conservation management in the south
east England. Land is owned and managed by the Woodland Trust, The RSPB, English
Nature, Canterbury City Council, Swale Borough Council and Kent County Council.
The woods can be accessed from a car park off the Rough
Common Road. There is a series of way marked trails of varying lengths, including
a 12 km long-distance trail which is open from February and October.
