Blean Woods - Wildlife Animals

The Blean supports a wide variety of animals, particularly insects and birds. The diversity is high for a number of reasons; the woodlands cover such a wide area, many parts are thought to be ancient woodland and the traditional management practice of coppicing still occurs. Some of the most interesting animals include; Heath Fritillary Butterfly Wood ant.
