Canterbury City Council Hogs Fennel

Hogs Fennel is a tall umbellifer only found in the UK on the coasts of Kent and Essex. The largest number of plants can be found at Tankerton Slopes where over 100 plants can be seen standing in the long grass above the sea wall. It can also be seen at Long Rock in Swalecliffe, Faversham Creek and Blue Anchor corner in Seasalter.The rare moth Agonopteryx putridella feeds on Hogs fennel.
