Reculver - History

1910

The towers were taken over by Trinity House to keep them as a landmark for sailors who needed a clear mark on this flat coast. Wooden wind vanes were added.

Even then Reculver was a popular spot for visitors who enjoyed the walk along the cliffs from Herne Bay. Sometimes regattas, with swimming and cycle races, were held here.
