| Lets
carry out an investigation. A good guess might be: "Different types of animal live in different parts of the pond" |
 
| We
now need to test our guess. It must be a fair test. Using a net, make four
sweeps of the same length close to the water plants. |
| Put
a little pond water in the tray and empty the net into it. Try the sweep
again, but this time in the open water away from the pond plants. |

Sort out the animals, catching the large ones with with a white spoon and
the small ones with a pipette. Treat all living creatures with respect,
please be gentle!
