  • Flood plain
Whitehall Meadow is also a small local nature reserve and is divided from Bingley Island only by the river.
The land is part of the flood plain and is therefore flooded when the river level gets too high.

Mooring post
  • Human impact
The river does have some evidence of human management such as this mooring post on the bank, and the railway bridge.

River splits to form Bingley Island
  • Tanning factory
This is the point where the Great Stour first divides to form Bingley Island. This was created to supply the Tanning Factory with a constant water supply.
  • Flooding
This is evidence of recent floods. The debris, which has risen with the level of the water, has been caught on the fence as the water level goes down.
