Wild Things

The Wild Things are West Boldon's Eco Club. We are a new group established in Autumn 2001 and are a friendly bunch of like minded young people aged 7-14. We are all interested in nature, wildlife and the environment and of course having fun! The group takes part in a wide variety of activities from pond dipping and environmental games to tree planting and practical work. We also have trips out to experience nature in and around the region.

We have recently become part of the Wildlife Watch group network, linked to Durham Wildlife Trust. Wild Things can join the National Programme and work towards their Wildlife Watch Gold Award. We are also working as a group to enter the Watch Group of the Year Competition. This involves keeping a record of what we get up to.

The Wild Things meet once a month on a Saturday afternoon at West Boldon Environmental Education Centre. For more information about the Wild Things, please contact Clare Rawcliffe at the Centre on 0191 5364873, or e-mail us at: westboldon.4seasons@pop3.hiway.co.uk
