Silver Birch

green and yellow catkins

the seeds are found on brown catkins separated by bracts

Seed Dispersal:
a very good example of wind and water seed dispersal

Silver Birch has a silver grey paper bark. The wood is is traditionally used for interior woodwork, wheels and fuel. The Sap was used by the cosmetic industry.
