Crack Willow
(Salix fragilis)

Flowers:
yellow and green, long catkins seen in April

Pollination:
wind

Seeds and fruit:
Catkins release small downy seeds in June.

Crack willow interbreeds with other types of willow. Crack willow was traditionally used for cricket bats, whilst the young shoots are used for basket-making.
